These photos are of two of the sweetest kids I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. This is Ian and he just turned 4 and Kinley who just turned 1 1/2. They are the best little photography subjects a photographer could ask for.
Last year when I met Ian and Kinley for the first time, Ian was a little shy, but did everything I asked of him with a big smile. This year Ian talked up a storm! He is so stinkin cute! Telling me about sports day at school and his favorite team. So adorable.
And Miss Kinley - she was just a wee little one last time I saw her, but she smiled just as much then as she does now. Her entire face lights up, so precious. She didn't have much to say, but listened very well. And someone wants to do EVERYTHING that her Big Brother does...hence, the tree photos - which I love :)
Kris & James, thanks so much for allowing me to watch your kiddos grow. They are always such a pleasure to photograph! I was so looking forward to seeing them again this year. :) Enjoy your sneak peek!
Meet The Shafer Family - or as I like to refer to them as 'The First Family'. These smiling faces are the first ones that I ever had the opportunity to photograph when I first started out my business over 3 1/2 years ago. They were as just as much fun now as they were then, if not more. I don't think we stopped laughing the entire time. From 5 year old Matthew's jokes to everyone being delirious about how cold it was in May - we had a blast.
We all braved the cold...all be it I was in long pants and a jacket and they wore flip flops, but you'll do whatever it takes to look cute in you family photos ;)
We met a very friendly (too friendly??) duck on our photo walk through down town Annapolis - he wanted to be in a few pictures as well - though he didn't make the sneak peek...
I owe a lot to this wonderful family - especially their amazing Mom Denise - she has single-handedly helped my business grow from a dream into a reality and I can't thank her enough!
Denise, Pat, E & Matthew - thank you all so much for everything!! And for being good sports with the weather and my crazy requests about climbing out on docks :) Have an amazing summer off, keep kicking butt at softball E, and enjoy your sneak peek!!
I was thrilled when Kendra and I figured out that we could do their family photos at Glen Echo Park. If you are not familiar with this park - it used to be an old amusement park back in the 1900's it was a premier amusement park for the DC area.
Now don't get me wrong, it was an amusement park - but not like the ones we know of today. They had 2 rides - bumper cars and a merry go round. The day we were there was the opening for the park and the merry go round for the summer.
The merry go round is still functioning - it is indoors - with big windows, but the bumper cars are no longer there. The photo of Mr. Alan sitting on the bench is actually taken inside where the bumper cars used to be. The amusement park back in the day had a puppet show, a stage and a few various other attractions. It is well worth a visit one day.
There is a permit required to photograph at Glen Echo - and it can take a few weeks to receive (plus a fee) so if any of my clients are interested i having family photos taken here - two words of advice...plan ahead. I hope I get to go back and visit Glen Echo another day with my family.
Kendra & Greg - thanks for the awesome experience!! Enjoy your sneak peek!
