I'm still surprised at how much of a small world it is. I had been emailing back and forth with Robyn about the arrival of her little one for about 3 months, then I show up at her house after Camden is born to find out she is the spin instructor from our old gym! My husband and I used to take her Monday night class every week!
I think it is so interesting to find out where families come up with names for their kids. Camden has a neat story - he got his name from Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles baseball stadium where his Mom and Dad met when they were back in college. So his name has a history and a story that he can tell his kids one day.
Robyn - Thanks so much for allowing me to come and capture the cuteness of your little man. Enjoy your sneak peek!
It's not often I have two posts back to back of kiddos with the same name...but here is another Lily, this one is a little younger and is a clone of her Daddy. Don't believe me, just take a look for yourself. Lily was super chill during her photo session, she loved being outside and just looking around at everything we were doing. She is one lucky little girl - her parents are head over heels in love with her :)
Brooke & Tyler - Thanks so much for allowing to photograph your little girl, she is simply precious. Enjoy your sneak peek!
Meet my friend Erica...isn't she a gorgeous Mama...
I am a HUGE believer of the saying 'Everything happens for a reason' and in this case timing couldn't have been more perfect...let me tell you the story.
Erica, who is one of my best friends from college moved to Chicago after graduation and I miss her terribly...well she got pregnant. We were all so insanely excited for her and her hubby Kevin, but sad because they were so far away. We'd miss the shower, the hospital visits, etc. that all of my college girlfriends share who live here in Baltimore. So my friend Annie and I decided to surprise Erica at her baby shower in Chicago...it was a success, she was shocked and we teased about surprising her into labor but she was only 33 weeks, so we knew the likelihood of that happening was slim.
But what we could have never guessed was that she would go into labor 3 days after we left!!! Yes, this little guy, was born at 33 weeks. You'd never be able to tell - he is one strong little boy, growing like a weed (already up to 10lbs!!) and just as sweet as could be. And boy oh boy was I happy he decided to come a little early...because that meant that I would get to meet him and photograph him!!
I was heading to the midwest to photograph a wedding...and was just an hour and a half drive from Erica's! So after the wedding weekend I dropped Jimmy off at the airport and headed to Chicago to meet Carson. And he didn't disappoint. It was heavenly. I had a baby at my disposal for a little over a day, I could hold, cuddle, photograph and ooh and ahh over him without disruption. Heaven I say.
I love photographing newborns, but my friends newborns are so special to me as I get to hear stories about them, watch them grow and be a part of their lives, we are all so lucky to have each other.
But what was more amazing then Mr. Carson was the love that Erica and Kevin have for him. Wow. Erica was so meant to be a Mom it is unreal. That was amazing to see. Not that I ever doubted she would be an awesome Mom, but she was born to do this. Carson is the luckiest little guy on the planet.
Carson - keep being an amazing baby...because your Mom & Dad deserve the best and will always give you the best - there is no doubt about it.
E & Kev - keep up the amazing work. Oh, and plan a trip to Baltimore like now...ok? I have a guest room and 2 little girls who'd love to be Momma's to Carson for a few days :) Miss you guys. Love you!! xoxo - Care
