The Long Awaited - Baltimore Newborn Photographer

I have had two babies and have no clue what 'going into labor' is like - both of my girls had to be coaxed to come out and meet us.

Not everything happens like it does in the movies, that is for sure. There was no "I'm in labor!!" wake up call in the middle of the night to my husband - who then hurriedly rushed around the house to get everything together and rush me to the hospital running every light and speeding the whole way. Nope. Nada.

It was totally the opposite - there was a lot of waiting and waiting...

Waiting as I hit 40 weeks with no sign of anything happening, waiting while my due date past, waiting as they gave me medicine to induce, waiting for everything to happen...just wait, wait and wait some more.

Then there are always the people who ask you when you are due, to which you respond "three days ago" and you get the weird looks. Not fun. Not fun is the fact that you are only supposed to be pregnant for 40 weeks, not 41. Not fun are all of the phone calls and emails "is the baby here yet??" to which after about 3 days and multiple phone calls and emails I began to answer "Yes she is! oh, you mean Jimmy forgot to call you??"

So when I am on call to set up appointments for newborn photos off of the baby's due date - I am always hesitant to email the Moms when it is a few days past their due date and I haven't heard from them yet. As I know exactly how they feel.

This little sweetheart was one of those cases - I totally sympathize. She is perfect in every way and just wanted to wait for the right time. Not too big, not too small, just right. And adorable.

Nina and Rich - thank you so much for allowing me to capture your adorable little girl. She was an amazing subject - she loved my swaddle which always makes me happy :) I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

The Baby Theory - Baltimore Newborn Photographer

My girlfriends and I have a theory, that little kids know what the sex of your baby is when you are pregnant. When I was pregnant with both of my girls I did not find out what I was having, so we polled all of the little kids and most said girl for my first, and they were right. Then I was pregnant with my second I asked my older daughter what I was having and she said the baby was a girl, up until the day I went into the hospital to get induced and she said I was having her 'baby brother' and threw the whole thing off! Oh well...we are still going with our theory.

I watch one of my really good friends daughters on Tuesdays, she is 3 weeks older then my oldest Charley and they are best buddies. Her Mommy is now pregnant and all day long, she talks about how when her baby sister comes out of her Mommy's belly we can all come and meet her. So the testing continues...now just to wait until the beginning of August to find out if she is right. Don't worry I'll keep you all posted. ;)

This baby girl was an angel to photograph, but I knew she would be as her older brother was the same way. I had the pleasure of capturing him in some holiday photos during our mini sessions this past holiday season (which I have still yet to post...they are coming soon!) while his Mom was pregnant with this sweet baby girl.

Hayley - thank you so much for asking me to come and capture the newness of your little princess. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

And Now A Baby Girl!! - Baltimore Area Newborn Photographer

Since the last two newborns were boys it is definitely time for a little girl!!

I had the pleasure to snap some photos of this little girl in her Mommy's belly a few months back and now she is here! And boy is she loved...her big sister (who lovingly refers to her as 'my baby') is so in love with her and her big brother is always concerned that she has her pacifier and I am sure will always take care of her.

This little one gave me a run for my money! Two different days and I finally won :)

Kris & Rich thanks so much for letting me capture the newness of your little girl - though it was a challenge, it was a lot of fun. See you soon for the family pictures!! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!
